The Environmental Surveillance, Education, and Research Program at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) Site has positions available for students to work as paid technicians collecting and managing data on ecological research/monitoring projects funded by the Department of Energy (DOE). Vegetation data will be collected for two projects during the 2018 summer field season. The first project supports sage grouse habitat monitoring; data collected for this project are used to assess current habitat condition, monitor changes in habitat condition, and measure the effects of vegetation change on habitat availability. The second project supports an accuracy assessment for the INL Site Vegetation Map. Data will be used to determine the degree to which mapped vegetation classes reflect the plant communities present in the field. The positions are temporary, full-time for the 2018 summer field season (late May to mid-August) and the anticipated start date is May 29, 2018. Pay will range from $12.00 to $15.00/hour, depending on experience. Technicians will report at the beginning and end of each day to our Idaho Falls office, and daily field work will be conducted at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) Site, located 45 miles west of Idaho Falls.

Summary/Objective The Senior Chemist, Technical Lead Hot Cell Operations, is responsible for managing the receipt, archiving and processing of radioactive samples requiring hot cell use, subsampling, and distribution to analytical disciplines; completing applicable analyses, and ensuring that analytical services are provided to customers in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. The Senior Chemist/Technical Lead will also assist in supporting the analytical divisions to focus work teams in the performance of the analytical work scope; in addition to providing technical competency, capability, capacity, and effective resource utilization for quality sample analyses. In accordance with ISMS and the QAPD, laboratory leadership has ultimate responsibility for providing a safe working environment for their staff and for compliance and quality of products.
