Perform review and basic analysis of Non-destructive Assay (NDA) data to assist in the development of high-confidence characterization packages and waste profiles for materials generated in the demolition and decommissioning of a gaseous diffusion uranium enrichment plant and associated facilities. Typical job responsibilities include comparison of data generated by NDA systems (ISOCS and IQ3) with waste profiles; examination of data for preliminary compliance/non-compliance determinations; and generation of reports supporting appropriate and compliant disposal of waste materials. It is anticipated that this position will be a temporary, six (6) month assignment.
Comply with set safety standards while performing essential job functions; specifically, the handling of radioactive waste. Use caution while operating equipment and machinery. Retain knowledge of training material. Operate during 2nd shift as needed (start/end times may vary).

The Chemist for Radiochemistry, is responsible for all areas of radiochemistry analyses of client samples. It focuses on providing technical competency, capability, capacity, and effective resource utilization while providing necessary quality and quantity for radiochemistry sample analyses. Assist the WHL Radiochemistry Laboratory Manager in the leadership and direction of the activities of the WHL Radiochemistry group. Provide technical guidance within WHL Radiochemistry, providing assistance to less experienced scientists, Laboratory Technicians, and other organizations within Analytical Chemistry. Initiate programs to improve work processes.
