Under general supervision, performs Laboratory Services functions as assigned by management. Typical responsibilities include assisting and supporting management in ensuring that all analyses associated with remediation or other programs are performed in a manner that provides accuracy, timeliness, and is fully compliant with FBP procedures and all regulatory requirements. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
Provides technical, administrative and/or functional support to the Laboratory Servies team
Assigned job duties may support Laboratory Services functional areas such as sampling, testing, experimentation/analysis, documentation, or related activities
Acts as resource for lesser experienced team members
Assists in training lesser experienced team members
Coordinates work assignments for the technicians in the Laboratory Services group
Performs laboratory functions and sub sampling activities according to the established processes and procedure
Prepares and analyses samples in various matrices
Assists with developing processes and procedures according to recognized and acceptable standards
Evaluates data by making comparisons with known standards
Assists with ensuring testing procedures, safety regulations, and compliance with all applicable regulations, project policies, contractual requirements, and standard operating procedures
Perform duties complex in nature
Other job related duties as assigned
Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner
Actively participates in Safety Work groups
Works in an office environment at a normal environmental restoration atmosphere(outdated and/or abandoned facilities). Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents, or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed.
Ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 45 pounds requires the use of the "buddy system") non-repetitive, up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, kneeling.
Ability to perform primary office duties including heavy computer usage.
In some cases, radiological training may be required.

High school diploma/GED and an associate degree in a related science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Typical experience ranges from 1-3 years.
Intermediate PC skills to include Microsoft software.
Basic understanding of federal and state policies and regulations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
